Short and human: what data we receive, why we need it, and what you can do about it.
Who operates your data
The operator is Frnds café, 25 Sagadat Nurmagambetov Street, Astana. For anything about personal data, reach us on WhatsApp or by phone at +7 707 480 92 15 — we answer during opening hours, daily from 09:00 to 23:00.
We process data under the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Personal Data and Its Protection” No. 94-V of 21 May 2013.
What we receive and why
When you message us on WhatsApp or call, we see your profile name, phone number, the order itself and — for delivery — your address. We use this to cook your order, bring it to you and reach you if a question comes up.
The legal basis is your consent, given when you message us or keep using the site. Now and then we may write to you about new dishes and offers — rarely, and only when it's worth it. If you'd rather not get these messages, reply “stop” on WhatsApp or just tell us, and we'll quit right away. We never sell your data or pass it to third-party advertisers.
What the site keeps on your device
The site stores two things in your browser's localStorage: your cart, so it survives a page refresh, and a note that you've seen the data notice. This stays on your device and is never sent to our servers.
There are no cookies, no analytics counters and no ad trackers on this site — and no forms asking for your name or phone.
Who else is technically involved
Messages travel through WhatsApp, so the WhatsApp (Meta) terms apply to the conversation. The site is hosted on Vercel, which — like any host — keeps technical request logs (IP address, request time). The map on the contact pages loads from OpenStreetMap servers, which receive your IP when the map loads.
These services get only the technical minimum needed for the site and the chat to work.
How long we keep it
We keep WhatsApp conversations for as long as we need them to handle orders. Ask us and we'll delete yours right away.
Your rights
Under Kazakhstan law you can ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected, withdraw consent and request deletion. Just message us on WhatsApp or tell the administrator at the café.
If you believe your rights have been violated, you can contact the authorised personal data protection body of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
